Arise! Shine!

The Testimony of Pastor Indrajeet Nayak
Pastor Indrajeet Nayak was born and brought up in a traditional Hindu family in a small village in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh state, India. He is married to Indu, and they have two children.
When Indrajeet was 17 years old, he lost his parents and was left an orphan. His life was full of pain and struggles. The future seemed dark, and he had no peace in his heart. How to survive in this world was the biggest question facing him. He did not know that the true and living God had a beautiful plan and purpose for his life. His aunt took care of him and helped him complete his education.
During his childhood, Indrajeet used to visit temples to worship idols, and he had a strong faith in Hinduism. Before coming to Christ, he opposed Christianity. He worshipped demons and actively participated in traditional rituals alongside other villagers. Every year, they offered sacrifices of black cocks, coconuts, goats, and other offerings to their idols. His grandfather was the chief priest in the village. This group considered themselves to be people of a “high caste” and believed that accepting Jesus would mean lowering themselves to the status of a lower caste.
Then things began to change.
One day, Indrajeet’s grandmother became seriously ill. The doctors could not identify the cause of her illness. According to the family’s understanding, her condition was caused by an attack of evil spirits, and her whole body was swelling. She was taken to doctors, witch doctors, and Hindu priests. A lot of money was spent on her treatment, but her condition continued to worsen. Finally, all hope seemed lost, and she was left to die. She remained bedridden for three months.
Then, by the grace of God, a servant of God visited the village one day and shared the Gospel with the family. He was asked to pray for Indrajeet’s grandmother, who was close to death. When he prayed, God demonstrated His great power and healed her completely. This miracle had a profound impact on the family, and they all turned to Jesus. Praise God!
This was the first family in that village and community to accept Jesus Christ. Afterward, persecution began. The family was ostracized by the community and excluded from social life. Others treated them as “untouchables,” and they were not allowed to draw water from the village well or hand pump. They were also barred from participating in social activities.
Even amid these difficulties, the family remained strong in their faith in Jesus. They continued to pray and grow in the Lord. After a few years, other people from the same community began coming to the Lord Jesus Christ. Today, by the grace of God, there is a church in the area.
Indrajeet was baptized in water in 1999 in obedience to God’s Word. Led by the Holy Spirit, his grandmother dedicated him to God’s ministry. In 2005, he attended Mission India Theological Seminary for Bible training. After completing his training, he began serving as an evangelist in Chhattisgarh.
In 2009, he was appointed as a Bible teacher in the Bastar Zone. In 2012, God placed a burden on his heart to form a team to carry out His work in remote villages, especially in places where educated and socially privileged people are often reluctant to go.
Today, several missionaries are working alongside him. This team has a deep burden for the poor tribal villagers living in the forests. They are passionate about sharing the Gospel, reaching the unreached, and winning souls for the Kingdom of God.
They need your prayers and support to continue this important work.
Thank you for your prayers, love, and support.
God bless you!
